Bye Bye Wattle

Friday was Wattle's last day in A3.  He has been visiting us from Australia for the last 7 weeks and now it is time for him to go back to his class Learning Together.  We have had lots of fun with Wattle and we are going to miss him, but we are looking forward to seeing our giraffe Wally again.  Take a look at the video to see what Wattle got up to while he was with us.

Farewell to Five

Yesterday was Maqushio, Shirley, Lolo, Malik and Rachael's last day in A3!  Our classes are getting too big so they have gone to B3 to help Miss Mooney start a new class.  We will miss them but we know they will have fun in B3.

Going to the zoo!

We went to Auckland Zoo yesterday and had a great time.  We were lucky the sun came out and all the animals were very active.  Wattle came with us and he had lots of fun and he made some new friends.

Wattle met some friends at the zoo and he saw a real wombat's skull!

Run run as fast as you can!

On Friday we baked gingerbread men.  It was a messy job but lots of fun!  We watched the gingerbread men carefully to make sure none of them ran away and lucky for us none of them did.

Wattle and Wally have arrived!

Today we received an envelope in the post and inside we found Wattle and Wally.  There was also some vegemite and a book full of stories that the children from Prep K and Prep S had written.  Wattle and Wally said they had had a great trip, although they had been a little frightened by the tornado.  Wattle is going to stay with us and Wally is going to spend his time in A4.  Take a look at the video to see what Wattle got up to on his first day here.

Teddy Bears Picnic

On Friday our Teddy's came to school for a picnic.  We spent the morning getting them dressed up and ready for the big teddy parade, and then we made some fairy bread for our picnic.  We think the teddys really enjoyed coming to school for the day.

Our Garden

We have been doing some gardening over the last couple of weeks.  First we had to pull out all the old plants from the garden then we planted some vegetables and flowers.  It was a lot of work but we are happy with our new garden
This is our garden before we pulled out the weeds.
Take a look at our slide show to see all the work we did:

Stu's mistake

On Tuesday Stu broke his cage, we think he might have been jumping around too much and it fell to pieces.  Luckily Stu was ok and on Wednesday a car and trailer came to school with a new cage for Stu.  We all went outside to watch and see what Stu thought of his new cage.  We think he really likes it.  Some of the children wrote stories about Stu and his new cage.  They did a great job reading their stories for the first time on the computer.
